Barossa, Baroque & Beyond
With heavy hearts, we have cancelled the three SUNDAY 3nd October performances. We waited, with fingers crossed and hope in our hearts…..and finally were forced to say we don’t have a hope in hell of having a BBB as promised this year.
We are acutely aware of the impact on musician’s livelihood in these crazy, uncertain times and will make sure they are all amply recompensed. We all have given cheerfully, especially Sharon and Roob: Sharon the super-artist and our Artistic Director and who created such a fine program, and Roob, the Manager locked down in Melbourne, who has been cancelling and re-scheduling so many fine artists.
But all is not lost!
Our wonderful Artistic Director and noted cellist Sharon Grigoryan (who sensibly has chosen to live in Adelaide) will be gifting us with Bach Cello Suites 1,2 & 3 on Saturday evening 2nd October as programmed in the 100 year old (in 2023!) St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Tanunda.
Starting at 5.30pm, this will be a magical insight into Bach’s musical world: an un-amplified performance by candle light in a Lutheran Church….imagine there was no electricity.
And in true BBB fashion, sensibly timed so that you can enjoy the 1 hour of music and then dinner afterwards. We certainly recommend that you make dinner bookings in one of the many fine eateries in Tanunda or in the greater Barossa.
“This is a musical offering for my home away from home,” says Sharon.
